RIVERDALE BURGER COOKIES – NERDY NUMMIES

Hey guys, it's Ro Welcome to another Nerdy Nummies I got so many requests from you guys to make something from the series Riverdale So that's exactly what we're gonna be doing today and for any of you who aren't familiar with the TV show Riverdale It's like the Archie comics but darker It's like if the Archie comics that I grew up reading and a murder mystery had a baby That would be it

And the series has all the traditional characters from the comic books They have Betty, Veronica Archie, Jughead One of the things I love about the series and the comics is they always meet up at Pops which is like the local diner and the character Jughead Loves hamburgers him and hamburgers is like meat and cookies, so I thought it would be a fun idea to make some homemade Cookie hamburgers, so let's get started the recipe that we're making today is A nilla cookie So the things you'll need will be: 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup of sugar, 3 eggs 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and a 1/4 cup of melted butter And then for the hamburger patty We're gonna make some ganache You'll need a 1/4 cup of cream and 1/2 cup of dark chocolate Then to decorate you'll need some white nonpareils, they're little balls And to make our lettuce you'll need a little bit of green food coloring and shredded coconut

Then for our mustard and ketchup We'll need some yellow and red buttercream icing I've put them into piping bags with tips at the end for a little bit more control All right now let's put it all together and make some Nilla cookies First step to making these cookies is whisking together the dry ingredients In a medium bowl, add your flour, baking powder, and salt

Then whisk together until everything is well combined and set off to the side Now in a large bowl, mix together your wet ingredients and sugar The sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and two eggs We're just gonna be adding the yolks, so set the egg whites off to the side, we don't need them I like to do egg white scrambles or an egg white omelette

Then again whisk together until well combined Break up those yolks We have our wet ingredients and our dry ingredients Now pour all of the dry into the wet Then using a spatula, mix together until you can't see any more dry ingredients

The cookie dough is ready this recipe is super easy Now, wrap it up tight with some food safe plastic wrap Once your dough is wrapped up place it in the fridge to chill for two hours, which is the perfect amount of time to start binge-watching Riverdale, if you haven't already or to read a bunch of Archie comics Or both We're trying to find a really funny one [gasps] OOOOH, this is the story right here

Look at this They're having a huge costume party, and they're even dressed as hamburgers After the dough has chilled, roll it out I'm gonna do a little bit of baking flare, one of my favorite parts Here we go, here we go! One, two, three [flick] That was a close one

I don't know what happened, but I feel like it came back at me for a second I don't really know the physics of it, but something funny happened Now take a little flour and sprinkle it on your work surface so that the dough won't stick Roll your dough to be about a quarter inch thick Once your dough is rolled out, cut out your cookies I'm using a circle cookie cutter

It is an inch and a half in diameter Because these cookies are supposed to look like hamburgers, they'll need a top and a bottom I'm cutting out the bottoms first, I'm going to cut out about ten To cut out the tops of our burgers, I'm using the same cookie cutter But with a little trick to make them look curved Take a piece of food safe plastic wrap, place it over the dough and cut out! Which makes the cookie look like the top of a burger bun The cookies are almost ready to bake But we have one more step Brush the tops of the cookies with a little bit of egg wash This was the egg that we were holding on to for later so I just cracked it open

Take a little basting brush, dip it in and Paint over the top of the cookie And just a reminder We're only brushing half the cookies: the top of the hamburger bun Once you brush the cookies, take a small pinch of these white sprinkle balls the nonpareil and sprinkle over the top This is so cute it's gonna look like sesame seeds on the top of the burger Cookies are now ready to bake Heat your oven to 350 degrees and bake for 12 minutes Well the cookies are baking we have two things to do one is to make some ganache Super easy and the second is to color our coconut shreds green Let's start with our ganache because it's super easy Pour the cream into a small sauce pot then let's take it over to the stove Place the pot on top of the stove turn your heat to medium bring the cream to a scald you'll know it's scalding when little bubbles start to form around the outside of the edge as soon as you see those little bubbles turn off your heat remove from the stove and come back to the Baking station our cream is hot and fresh off the stove and over here We have some chocolate in a medium-sized bowl or all of the hot cream over the chocolate then give the bullard jiggle a little shake Then we're gonna let it sit for three to five minutes once the ganache has set whisk together until it's shiny and smooth ganache is looking good smelling good set it off to the side to cool and thicken and the While it's cooling We'll die our coconut shreds making these is super easy scoop in your green Dye, and mix together tolds well combined And it's evenly coated our cookies have baked and had plenty of time to cool and while they were baking we made our ganache which I placed into a Piping bag with a number 12 tip over here to decorate again We've got our green coconut shreds as well now it is time for my favorite part

It is time to decorate starting with the ganache the ganache is supposed to look like a burger patty so pipe a thin layer on the bottom of the hamburger cookies no using our buttercream icing pipe on your ketchup and mustard Last topping we need a little bit of lettuce I'm just placing a little bit on each burger final step place the top, bun on top Boop and TAADAAA Here are the Nilla wafer hamburger that we made today To look like jugheads favorite food from pops diners in Riverdale a big

Thank you to you guys for suggesting something Riverdale themed I absolutely love the Archie comics I grew up reading them I had a huge collection of them I'm also very excited because this is the first time we have ever made a homemade Miller cookie I'll be taking a bunch of pictures and posting the recipe on Rosina busy TOCOM Instagram Facebook and Twitter So you can check it out there, and if you guys make these adorable little hamburger cookies Please take a picture and send it to me I love seeing your baking treats It just makes me happy It makes my day, and if you have any other ideas for any other nerdy nummies Please let me know leave me a comment down below, and I will do my best to make it happen alright Thanks again You guys bye-bye!
